Vincent Mondy

Vincent Mondy started the clarinet when he was 11 years old at the National Conservatory of Limoges and worked quickly alongside the classical percussion which allowed to play several times in the symphonic orchestra of the Limousin region. This opening led him to discover new universes and thus participated to several projects for the theatre. His taste for musical eclecticism brought him naturally towards jazz and improvised music.

He studied saxophone with Xavier Cobo and played with many bands from a gypsy jazz trio, to a Hard Bop quintet and a Big Band. Despite an important presence on stage, he is being devoted to education and teaching for more than 20 years, to his personal projects, to the trio AZAD in the 2000s and now to the project Vincent Mondy Quartet in which he shows his talent as a musician but also at composing.
